Where can my 2021 BMW i3 (hatch) charge at Tesla Superchargers?

Yes. BMW vehicles have had official Supercharger access since December 2025. You charge at any Supercharger marked “open to non-Tesla” using the Tesla app.

The 2021 i3 (hatch) has a CCS1 port. At NACS stalls you need a NACS-to-CCS1 DC adapter: the Lectron Vortex Plus (BMW-approved) / BMW NACS DC Adapter ($175). At launch BMW pointed owners to the Lectron Vortex Plus (about $175) via a myBMW link; BMW-branded adapter sold as an accessory from Q2 2026 (price not published). Not free. Adapter details. Magic Dock sites (green) need no adapter at all.

At the stall: the 2021 charge port is passenger-side rear. Back in, but the short V3 cable usually only reaches from the post of the stall to your right. Take an end stall or expect to use the neighbouring stall's cable. Not in BMW's Supercharger software program; only Magic Dock stalls work, and only if the car has the optional DC port. 50 kW peak.

How to charge: download the Tesla app, choose “Charge Your Non-Tesla”, add a payment card, pick the site and stall number, plug in, then tap Start. Older V2 Superchargers (grey on the map) only work with Teslas.

CCS1 was optional. Not in BMW's NACS software program; works only at Magic Dock sites.

Current i4/i5/i7/iX are 400 V, so no V3 penalty.

Good to know about Superchargers

Only Superchargers marked 'open to NACS partners' (V3, V3+ and V4 stalls with the Tesla app 'Charge Your Non-Tesla' flow) are usable by non-Tesla cars. Older V2 stalls are Tesla-only. A small number of V3 'Magic Dock' sites have a built-in CCS1 adapter and work for any CCS1 car regardless of brand agreement.
V3 and V3+ dispensers run roughly 400-500 V and top out at 250 kW. 800 V-class cars (Hyundai/Kia/Genesis E-GMP, Porsche Taycan/Macan, Audi Q6/A6 e-tron, Lucid, Mercedes CLA, Cadillac Escalade IQ/GMC Hummer/Silverado EV in some modes) charge slower there unless they have an on-board boost converter. V4 cabinets (500 kW, up to 1,000 V) started going live in September 2025 and remove that penalty.
V3 cables are short and sized for Tesla's rear-left port. Cars with a front or passenger-side port often have to park nose-in or across two stalls. V4 posts have longer cables.
Adapters: only a DC 'NACS-to-CCS1' adapter approved by the vehicle maker is covered by that maker's warranty; Tesla's app will still let unapproved adapters charge, but the OEM may deny warranty claims. AC 'J1772-to-NACS' adapters are a different product and are irrelevant for Superchargers.
